Summary[]
Bernard is always so relaxed when it comes to rushing. Karen had always noticed that in Bernard. Until one day Bernard leaves his magical timepiece on the bench at school after it fell through a hole in his coat pocket before Karen finds it. Karen rushes out to hand it to him and Bernard is gone. As Karen heads home from school she notices that when she presses the button on the watch, everyone freezes.
Firstly, she heads to Bernard's house but no one is home so she decides to keep the watch a little longer. After arriving home and finding her mother in tears, thinking her father had forgotten their wedding anniversary, she rushes straight to her dad's work. Sadly, her dad had indeed forgotten and immediately arranges to make up for it. Karen also uses the watch to finish her homework quicker. Meanwhile, Bernard never felt more miserable in his life although his parents try to assure him that he will get the watch back when someone hands it to the police. Finally, Karen arrives with the watch at Bernard's where they talk about the it with Karen revealing that she knows what it can do. After Karen leaves, Bernard finds that she had stitched up his broken pocket. Bernard then turns up at Karen's house to thank her and agrees to let Karen can borrow the watch occasionally.
